It ticks all the boxes in terms of ride quality, build quality, features, and performance (for those looking for a monster scooter).

Its exoskeleton-like hand welded frame, carbon fiber stem and hydraulic suspension try to answer critics who scoff at its $4,499 price tag.

EMOVE Cruiser: Feature-Packed Commuter Ends Range Anxiety

This is the scooter that you are tired of everyone telling you to buy.

Though it no longer holds the crown for longest-ranged scooter in the world, the EMOVE Cruiser still remains one of the best.

Its sweet ride quality thanks to dual suspension, large pneumatic tires, and giant deck make it a sensible daily commuter.

The 2021 Cruiser has an new, more powerful 1000-watt motor. This significantly increased top speed and hill-climbing ability while only slightly decreasing range.

Bonus features like semi-hydraulic brakes, keyed ignition, turn signals, IPX6 water-resistance rating, and electronic horn make what would be a good scooter great.

You simply can’t go further or more comfortably at this price.

Dualtron Storm: Swappable-Battery Brute

The Storm is an over-the-top, dual motor specimen that gets 43.6 miles range thanks to its removable 2268 watt hour battery.

Everything about the Storm is bonkers. It weighs 103 lb and has extreme, arm-yanking acceleration. It’s so extreme that some will be deterred because it is too powerful.

Interestingly, the Storm has become hugely popular among delivery drivers and e-scooter riding messengers. The huge deck, full suspension, and swappable battery make it a workhorse for riders willing to invest $4,490 .

It’s also one of the fastest scooters on the market.

Inokim OXO: Exotic Scooter Can Go The Distance

One of Chuck’s favorite scooters, the OXO ranked 3rd best, due to its seemingly bottomless 36.6 mile range. It has one of the best suspensions and braking performances we’ve tested.

The OXO was somewhat frustrating due to lackluster throttle response and a plastic deck that is indeed slippery when wet.

Features like a single-sided swingarm, a very comfortable thumb throttle, hydraulic brakes, and high-mounted lights help sweeten the deal.

Ultimately, the OXO is not a scooter for bargain-hunters but those who are looking for quality ride with an innovative (and generally rider-friendly) design.

Kaabo Mantis Pro: Lightweight Powerhouse Goes 33.7 miles

Though growing somewhat long in the tooth, the (relatively) svelte Mantis Pro has maintained its dominance as a lighter, still fierce, dual-motor beast scooter. It is a direct competitor to pricier Dualtron models such as the Spider that are favored by riders looking for lighter beast scooters.

When it first arrived on the market, it was an unbeatable performance value. Despite arrival of newer scooters, it still remains competitive thanks to its tested 33.7-mile range, 37.0 mph top speed, Minimotors EY3 throttle, and fully-hydraulic brakes.

Kaabo Wolf King: The King Has Stamina

Not only is the Wolf King the fastest scooter we’ve ever tested, with a recorded top speed of 59.4 mph, it also has stamina. The King marked its spot on the range leaderboard by achieving a final distance of 33.4 miles.

There is a lot to love about the Wolf King. Though not cheap, we think $2,999 is a tremendous value for one of the best scooters out there.

Dualtron Eagle Pro

The Eagle Pro’s simple, elegant, yet effective rubber suspension combined with dual motors supply 1800 watts of power landed it a spot as one of this year’s best electric scooters.

Minimotors once represented the best quality in the industry, but newer, cheaper, and frankly better scooters are proving fierce competition.

EMOVE RoadRunner: Longest Range Seated Electric Scooter

The EMOVE RoadRunner is the longest-ranged seated electric scooter we’ve ever tested.

Though shipping officially in Summer ’21, we were able to get our hands on a pre-release version of the RoadRunner and scored a respectable 33.0 miles during our range test.

In addition to range, the RoadRunner is no slouch when it comes to performance — clocking an impressive 35.5 mph top speed and 0 to 25 mph of 9.6 seconds.

The built-in seat, thumb throttle, bicycle-sized 14.5-inch tires make this seated scooter supremely comfortable when you want to go the distance.

Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11: Classic Beast Delivers All-You-Can Eat Range

Rated one of the best electric scooters in World several years in a row, there is a lot to love about the Warrior 11+.

Its ESG-tested 30.2-mile range secures it a spot as one of the best long range electric scooters.

This 101-pound scooter is rock solid with one of the sturdiest, zero-wobble stems in the game. The 11.0-inch air-filled tires and dual suspension (including a hydraulic fork) give this scooter next-level ride quality.

Sure, there are newer and shinier variants like the Wolf King that eek out more range, but classic Warrior 11 holds its own a very capable long-range scooter.

Apollo Phantom Ludicrous (60V)

The as yet, unreleased Phantom Ludicrous, is a juiced-up version of most-anticipated scooter of the year — the Apollo Phantom.

Its larger, 1260 wh battery has elevated the respectable 31.4 mile range of the 52 V Phantom to place-deserving 28.5 miles. Equipped with beefed-up controllers, the Phantom Ludo also earned a spot as one of the fastest electric scooters.

Apollo fanatics will have to wait just a bit longer to get their hands on this machine, but its Summer 2021 release will be well worth it for many.

Apollo Explore: Swiss Army Knife of Electric Scooters

The Explore is the Swiss Army Knife of electric scooters — balanced, affordable, great for many uses and different rider types.

Despite rounding out the bottom of the range leaderboard, it still delivered a marathon-like 28.1 miles of range.

Though the ESG team thinks of this scooter as a fairly tame and practical commuter, most riders will find that it has more than enough speed and acceleration to be fun. Its array of practical features, comfortable deck size and build quality (typically including a 2-year Apollo warranty — though check details from your particular retailer) really mean that no one could go wrong buying this scooter.

Perhaps not the most exciting scooter out there, sometimes the “boring” choice is the one that will put the biggest smile on your face. And keep some money in your pocketbook.

At the typical $1,199 MSRP the Explore is a bargain, but if you can score an additional coupon (check ours) or catch it on sale, it’s an absolute steal.

You know the electric scooter leaderboard is strong when the shortest-ranged scooter is the venerable Ninebot Max that delivered a not-so-small 21.6-mile range.

The Ninebot Max has received more accolades than nearly any other scooter in existence. It’s no surprise that it landed a spot as one of the best long range scooters out there.

It is as reliable as a hammer, has unstoppable pneumatic tires, and was even used by Graham Pollard and Co. to complete a 4,000 mile electric scooter journey across America. Few scooters would survive that trip.
