The Original Bad Boy– The Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11

2 years ago, when we premiered the Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11, it was the beast scooter of the day. Redditers even voted it the baddest scooter on the planet, and with good reason. The Wolf Warrior 11 helped reinvent performance offroad scooters and create a cult following for Kaabo. Today, the Wolf Warrior 11 may lack some of the bells and whistles you get with newer scooters; but it remains good value for money, especially if your primary goal is to go off trails with your scooter. We’ll explain.

The scooter’s quick acceleration is the standout quality of the Wolf Warrior 11. It gave us the second-best 0-15.0 mph time, tying with the original Wolf King and Segway’s GT2 at 1.9 seconds. The scooter’s 0 to 40.0 mph time was the best we’d ever tested at the time, but other scooters now come with smoother sinewave controllers, giving them an edge over the Wolf Warrior 11’s square wave motor controller. But, even so, the scooter still has one of the best hill climb times on our 200.0 ft 10% hill test, reaching the top in an impressive 7.6 seconds. 

The other thing riders loved about the Wolf Warrior 11 , was the scooter’s stability at high speed. This is one of the original Kaabos with the front dual stem that accords the Wolf Warrior 11 unmatched stability, especially at speed and through the rough ride otherwise experienced on rocky trails. The scooter peaks at 45.0 mph, though we always felt we could go faster, and the rigid stem gives you complete control of the scooter throughout the whole ride.

As stated, the electric scooter was designed to go offroad; therefore, it comes with features to match. For instance, it has motorcycle-style hefty front forks that are just begging for rough terrain and rear spring shocks. Then there’s the 11.0-inch tubeless air-filled tires that come as either smooth street tires or knobby offroad wheels. If you’re out on challenging terrain, the offroad wheels help the scooter maintain traction even in the worst of conditions; but take them on paved streets, and they’ll be bumpy, noisy, and introduce a turning difficulty.

The Wolf Warrior 11 e-scooter also has quite the hefty deck that equals that of the legendary Wolf King GT. Both offer 20.3 inches by 9.0 inches of riding platforms. It is rubberized for great grip and has a 6.3-inch clearance, allowing the scooter to go over obstacles without damage. The handlebar height is slightly lower than ideal for taller riders at 37.9 inches, but heavier riders will appreciate the 330.0 lbs capacity. 

The scooter has the lowest range of the pack, despite its above-average 2100 wh battery. However, it did give us the highest average top speed during the range test, again due to that high-speed stability and intense corner-curving ability. In fact, of all the electric scooters we’ve tested, only the beast scooters, Dualtron Storm Ltd and Dualtron X Ltd, recorded higher speeds, at 22.8 mph and 22.5 mph, respectively.

And we can’t end a Kaabo review without mentioning the incredible lighting. Its dual headlight completely lights up your path and allows for high, low, and flashing beam settings. The main lights are complemented by bead deck lights and underdeck swag lights that add to the scooter’s visibility. But if they still don’t see you coming, the motorcycle-style horn grabs their attention.

King of the Light Heavyweights– The Dualtron Victor Luxury

Minimotors is THE luxury electric scooter brand, and they particularly excel in high-end dual-motor scooters. After all, they practically invented dual-motor scooters, so it makes sense that they should build them the best. The Dualtron Victor Luxury is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a high-performance dual-motor scooter under 80.0 lbs. Noteworthy competitors in this class include the Vsett 10+, Synergy Tsunami, Yinke i5, and the original Victor.

The Dualtron Victor Luxury weighs 76.8 lbs, has dual 2000 w motor power (4000 w total) and is fitted with 10.0-inch by 3.0-inch pneumatic inner tube tires, so it definitely qualifies for the light heavyweight category. That said, it is also the lightest and most portable scooter on our list, with all others weighing above 100.0 lbs. And thanks to the folding handlebars, it occupies a small space when folded. But let’s take a look at what it does best.

The Victor Luxury maxes out at 46.2 mph, which is the 12th fastest max speed recorded on our database. No lighter scooter goes faster than this, and the only cheaper scooter that goes faster than the Luxury is the new EMOVE RoadRunner Pro, with a 54.7 mph top speed. The scooter then ties with the Segway GT1 for 8th position for acceleration, at 2.3 seconds from 0 to 15.0 mph. For this, you have the ultra-responsive throttle, and the electric scooter’s ease of handling even with P-settings maxed all the way up.

Speaking of handling, lighter scooters tend to have a disadvantage when it comes to high-speed handling. The weight on beast scooters gives them a solid feel even at the highest speed. The Victor Luxury has surprisingly good handling for a scooter this light that goes as fast. However, you need a steady hand and a wide stance to stay in control of the scooter. It may not help that it has limited deck space and that the footrest is barely usable for normal riding, but we give you tips on the best stance for this deck in our Victor Luxury video review, so check it out.

The battery on the Victor Luxury electric scooter is another best-in-class. Minimotors manages to fit an ultra-large 1800 wh battery on this relatively light scooter by using premium, energy-dense 21700 cells. On our list, only the Wolf King GT and the NAMI BURN- E 2 go further than the Luxury’s impressive 42.0 miles range. That said, you can absolutely hammer the throttle because you’ll probably never drain the battery in one go. And try out some hills while you’re at it. Ours peaked at 30.0 mph on the steepest section of our hill test range.

The Luxury e-scooter has a great-feel ride quality. There are many contributing factors, including the unique rubber suspension with the softest cartridges ever. They are perfectly calibrated for riders between 140.0 lbs–265.0 lbs rider weight spec. However, you can swap them out for stiffer ones if you prefer. You can also change the swing arm angle to match your weight and riding style. Further, the Luxury has a 12-degree stem angle that allows for increased high-speed stability.

Then you have the Victor’s wide innertube tires mounted on split rims. The increased contact patch with the ground improves handling. The split rims allow for easy tire change. However, if you prefer tubeless pneumatic tires, you can always swap out your stock tires for tubeless tires mounted on solid rims. On a side note, we recently tested our very first electric scooter with tubeless tires mounted on split rims, the EMOVE Roadrunner Pro by Voro Motors, and we’re seriously hoping that becomes a new standard.

The rest is pretty much Dualtron standard, good and bad, like the famous stem creak, the customizable swag lights, the lack of a bell or IP rating, and the relatively short warranty. Though, you could always purchase yours with Voro Motors, as they have the best deals on warranty. They offer a 1-year warranty on their Dualtron electric scooters, with the option to extend it to two years at a fee. And for a pricey scooter, you want the assurance and support that comes with an extended warranty.

Jack of All Trades and Master of All–The Wolf King GT

If these were the Oscars, the Wolf King GT would leave with the most awards; then return the next year and probably do the same. It’s that good. And with the huge drop in price since its first release, the high performance to dollar value just went through the roof. We’ll let the numbers tell you.

The Wolf King GT was finally dethroned as the fastest production electric scooter by the Dualtron X Limited. The X Limited topped out at 61.7 mph, against the GT’s record of 61.0 mph. The Dualtron Storm Limited almost matched the King GT but did not get past 59.9 mph, ridden in the same conditions. Even more impressive is that the X Limited more than doubles the GT’s price, while the Storm Ltd falls very short of doubling it. And that’s just the first case of the GT’s performance bargain.

The GT’s massive 2520 wh with energy efficient 21700 LG cells and efficient sinewave controllers give the GT our 4th highest range per charge. It’s the highest by a margin on this list. The sine wave controllers plus the scooter’s progressive throttle give the GT smooth and quick acceleration–in ranks with the NAMIs that dominate this category. The scooter’s 0-30.0 mph time is an impressive 3.8 seconds, and 1.8 seconds from 0-15.0 mph.

Another advantage to the GT’s massive 50 amp controllers is the scooter’s ability to scale hills. Only the more expensive NAMI BURN E and the E 2 Max scooters did better, with the GT coming in third on our 200.0 ft 10% hill with a 6.5-second climb. For its price, the GT is untouchable in this regard. 

Usually, it should be impossible to safely ride an electric scooter that churns out 8400 W peak power, but here is where the massive controllers swoop in and save the day once more. Power delivery is progressive, and with a steady hand and loads of concentration, it’s easy to stay in control of the scooter. But not just that, the Wolf King GT scooter is also the standard when it comes to high-speed stability, thanks to the dual stem. The dual stem advantage is that it allows for a wide-weight distribution on the front end, giving the GT a larger moment of inertia (fun facts by Paul).

Then comes the ride quality. The scooter rolls on 10.0-inch CST, puncture-proof, pneumatic tires that eliminate flat anxiety. We tested it on our video review if you need the proof–it’s halfway to having solid tires. The tire’s 3.5-inch wide profile is excellent for traction and works well with the GT’s Zoom Hydraulic disc brakes to bring the scooter to a safe stop; the GT recorded a braking distance of 10.0 ft from a 15.0 mph speed. And for a scooter that weighs 125.0 lbs, the stopping power is also quite impressive.

If you’re a big or heavy rider, you’ll love that this scooter is not just big-dawg-approved, but Ramier also said it was one of the first scooters he felt he could have fun with. From the 330.0 lbs capacity to the 40.0-inch handlebar height, wider bars, the large 20.3-inch by 9.0-inch deck space, the massive power on this electric scooter, the excellent hydraulic front shocks, and the rear spring suspension, the GT is quite literally a dream for the above average rider looking for a sporty buy.

The rest of the scooter’s features come together to elevate the ride experience, like the scooter’s water-resistant dash, motor, and controllers stacked on the IPX5-rated scooter. The Wolf King GT was also part of the advent of great displays with its large and easy-to-read TFT display. The GT also has those legendary Kaabo dual-headlights that are a win for night riding, complemented by the high-mounted front turn signals, deck lighting, rear signals, and a massive taillight to elevate the scooter’s visibility.

The Exotic One-NAMI BURN- E 2

The NAMI BURN- E 2 is the reduced-performance version of the record-breaking, Original BURN-E. In our review, we called it the iPhone SE of electric scooters. But don’t get it twisted; the reduction in performance in no way means the BURN E-2 won’t hold its own in a throwdown. In fact, for $1,000 less, many people will forgo the original BURN-E’s added capability for this gem. It’s like choosing a good MacBook Air over an older MacBook Pro if that makes sense. Forgive us for the Apple references, but we are talking premium buys here.

The first thing you notice when you get yourself a NAMI is the beautifully sculpted frame. The frame is tubular, hand welded, and has a stunning matte black finish. And it’s not just nice to look at. It is also responsible for the scooter’s stability, working hand-in-hand with the solid carbon fiber stem and the adjustable steering damper. You also get an enormous 22.0-inch by 11.5-inch deck that allows you to adjust your stance any way you like.

The adjustable front and rear hydraulic suspension further exemplify the ride quality. Depending on your weight and riding style, you can dial in rebound damping from bouncy to super smooth. Then there’s the large and wide 11.0-inch by 3.5-inch Tuovvt tubeless tires that feel great on the road and will highly reduce your chances of getting pinch flats. They also add to the stability of high-speed cornering.

The NAMI’s exoticness goes beyond its looks–the performance for its price is also a rare phenomenon. This 2000 W electric scooter comes with dual 30 amp sinewave controllers that take the scooter’s performance to the next level. The scooter’s acceleration is phenomenal–giving us the third quickest acceleration from 0 to 15.0 mph at only 1.8 seconds, behind its bigger siblings, the NAMI BURN- E and the BURN-E 2 Max. Up to speeds of , the BURN-E 2 keeps up with more powerful scooters but starts to lag beyond such speeds.

The NAMIs are the kings of the hills, and the BURN-E 2 is right there with the pack. The BURN-E 2 scooter cleared our 200.0 ft, 10% hill in just 6.8 seconds and maintained up to 30.0 mph speeds on the steepest parts of our hilly range test course. Speaking of speeds, the scooter has a top speed of 43.8 mph, keeping up with other high-performance electric scooters. It’s slower than its bigger siblings, but outside of competitive racing, 40.0 mph is more than enough to get anyone’s heart pumping.

To keep costs low, the BURN-E 2 took a downgrade to the battery. The scooter has a 2016 wh battery that now comes with generic cells. The problem with generic cells is they tend to lose some efficiency after about 500 charge cycles. However, that did not stop the BURN-E 2 from doing a good 49.1 miles on a full charge. This efficiency can be credited to the sinewave controllers and the newly upgraded logan 2-piston hydraulic brakes that replace the NUTT hydraulics on the original BURN-E. The brakes give the BURN-E 2 a stopping distance of 10.3 ft from a speed of 15.0 mph.

The shocks and steering damper aren’t the only adjustable features on this electric scooter. Riders can also independently control the power delivery to the front and rear motor, creating customized riding modes for special occasions like riding in the rain. If you’re not into it, you can stick to the 5 custom (but customizable) riding modes. And, if you do ride in the rain, stick to light showers. The electric scooter has an IP55 rating, but you can see high-level waterproofing on connectors, wiring, joints, etc. The fenders are great but could be longer.

The headlight is a competitor for Kaabo’s with a strong projection. It has the coolest turn signals that wrap around the deck front to back. The scooter also has a large, bright LCD display that gives you all the necessary metrics (and more) at a glance. Finally, the BURN-E 2 is another great one for big dawgs, like the Wolf King GT. It is the tallest scooter alongside the BURN-E 2 Max, giving excellent riding posture to riders over 5’7″(170.18 cm) and can handle a max rider weight of 330.0 lbs like most beast scooters. 

The Premium Twins–Segway’s GT2 and GT1

There’s no talking about the GT2 without mentioning the GT1–that’s what happens when you have twins. However, the GT1 doesn’t make this list by mere association only. The GT1 has earned its place in the halls of fame as the best-performing single-motor scooter. We’ve constantly pitted its performance against the light heavyweights, and it has, on multiple occasions, defended its place among performance scooters. But why not let the numbers do the talking.

In a long-awaited move, Segway released two flagship scooters last year–their first high-powered scooters–the 3000 w dual motor electric scooter, the GT2 and 1400 w single motor GT1. The GTs happen to be the most objectively luxurious-looking electric scooters we’ve tested and probably what the Taur and Unagi grow up to be. During the official video review, we joked that these scooters were carved from a single metal, scootanium, and we need Segway to confirm or deny that because the scooters are so intricately put together.

Looks aside, the feature set on the GTs is next level. The GT2’s transparent passive matrix OLED display looks like the heads-up display on a fighter jet–readable in the sunlight and looks really cool. The GT1’s is okay but could be brighter. Then there’s the layout of buttons on either side of the bars. Everything you need is so intuitive once you’ve mastered them, you’ll never look down. From the mode selector to dual/single, lights on/ off, horn, and even the button-activated cruise control–working the GTs is as easy as it sounds.

Then there’s the twist grip throttle. There’s a reason they are the standard for motorcycles and boy, won’t you love them on the GTs. Sadly–unlike trigger style and thumb-style throttles, you can’t hold up the electric scooter (unless by kickstand) without touching the throttle. That said, the throttle response is soft on launch but quickly picks up. You see this in slightly reduced performance numbers compared to other beast scooters. But we’ll take the trade any day for the GT’s smooth input.

The GTs look luxurious, but they also feel luxurious on the road. The electric scooter design heavily impacts the stability and impressive ride comfort. Before the EMOVE RoadRunner Pro’s 24-degree rake angle, the GTs held the record at 18 degrees. The large rake angle and the girder front end combine to give the GTs better steering stability than the NAMIs with their adjustable steering dampers. And to further exemplify the ride, the GTs both have adjustable hydraulic front and rear suspension.

The performance is also worth the premium price tag. You’ll notice the GT1’s numbers almost compare and far outdo other single-motor scooters. The top speed for the GT2 is 41.8 mph, while that of the GT1 is 34.5 mph. The acceleration is also great, with 1.9 seconds for the GT2 and 2.3 seconds for the GT1 from 0-15.0 mph. To 30.0 mph, the GT2 clocks 4.1 seconds, and 5.5 seconds for the GT1, showing their strong acceleration curves. The GT2 is our 5th all-time fastest hill climber, while the GT1 is the fastest single-motor electric scooter. While the range fell behind other scooters in the class, with 32.9 miles on the GT2 and 21.9 miles on the GT1.

Braking on the scooters needs its own moment, especially remembering that they broke new grounds for braking when they premiered, and somehow, most scooters that followed just maintained the standard. They both use a unique kind of hydraulic brakes system, without regenerative braking, that stopped them from 15.0 mph in just 9.4 ft for the GT2 and 9.5 ft for the GT1. Without regen brakes, the harder you pull, the harder you stop. You can also turn off braking priority to allow the brake and throttle to engage at a go, but don’t attempt this unless you’re an expert.

We love the traction control and Boost mode on the GT2 electric scooter, the high-mounted turn signals, the world-class app, the quirky-sounding horn, the optional BlueTooth speaker that makes vroom vroom noises, 900-lumen headlight, the rose gold highlights on the GT2 and titanium metallic finish on the GT1 and what feels like a conservative IPX4 rating. 

What could be an issue is that these are the least portable folding scooters. They are the two tallest scooters when folded at 34.0 inches, with the mammoth Dualtron X Limited taking second place at 31.0 inches. They are also the third longest when folded at 58.7 inches, behind the King GT’s first place at 61.0 inches, and the tie for second place by the Wolf King and Wolf Warrior 11 at 60.0 inches. Not to mention, the GT1 weighs 115.6 lbs, while the GT1 weighs 104.8 lbs, which is not the heaviest but is relatively heavy.

Dualtron Thunder 

The $3,499 Dualtron Thunder is a powerful scooter and a stellar candidate for this selection of scooters. It has a tested top speed of 50.0 mph, a 45.2-mile top range, is ridiculously fast on hills, beats most scooters in stopping power, has one of the quickest accelerations and has a great ride quality.

The build quality is classic Dualtron, and there’s really not much we can fault the electric scooter for, save for the stem creak that only the X Limited has managed to beat and that it doesn’t come with an IP rating. However, we intend to cover its big brother, the Thunder II, in our next Editor’s Choice Post on Beast Scooters. And given a choice, we’d pay more and carry home the Thunder II.

Kaabo Wolf King

Performance-wise, the original Kaabo Wolf King doesn’t feel too far off from the King GT. However, there are so many upgrades to the King GT, it almost feels like an entirely new electric scooter.

From the sinewave controllers to the large TFT display, the King GT’s taller and more ideal handlebars, the quieter ride due to the more efficient controllers, better anti-puncture technology, a higher IP rating, and the forged aluminum end caps in the forks; all these improvements at an extra cost of less than $200 are the reason the King GT makes the list, while the Wolf King doesn’t.
