Two titans of the scooter world join forces to design a better Wolf Warrior, starting with adding turn signals to the taillight
The Kaabo Wolf Warrior has become one of the best known and most popular high performance electric scooters on the planet. Not only did it rank as one of the top 10 fastest electric scooters, it’s also one of the best scooters for riding in the rain.
Voro Motors, a personal electric scooter retailer with 13 international locations headquartered in Los Angeles, California, is collaborating with Kaabo to improve their line of scooters, starting with the taillight on the Wolf Warrior.
Improving the Wolf Warrior’s Lighting Package
Lights help you see and be seen, and there are tons of lights on the Wolf, including a duo of super bright headlights, deck-mounted LEDs, and a bright red taillight.
In this round of improvements with Voro Motors, Kaabo will be swapping out the current taillight for a design with integrated turn signals.
Button Controls Should Provide Feedback
The Wolf King’s turn signal controls look to be the same as those found on the Kaabo Mantis 8 and on the all-new design for the Apollo Phantom, and, unfortunately, the buttons for the blinkers on the Mantis 8 do not provide audible or tactile feedback, so you can tell when the turn signals are on.
The console controls button lights that emit from the front and rear of the deck.
Although you can look down to check while riding the Mantis 8, it isn’t ideal that the same lights that are used for signaling are also used as your headlights and taillights. That means that the button lights will blink until the turn signals are no longer engaged.
Since the lights also blink when you’re braking, it makes it difficult for other drivers to know if you’re stopping, indicating a turn, or understand exactly why your lights are blinking.
The new taillight on the Wolf Warrior will be behind the rider, which is a lot harder to check at a glance. There are small translucent panels above the left and right buttons that could be indicator lights, which would be the simplest way for Kaabo to let riders know that the blinkers are on. If the blinkers are intended as a safety feature, they should make it safe and easy for the rider to use, or else they’re rather useless.
We’re Hoping for Front Turn Signals
Since Kaabo’s taking the time to implement turn signals in the taillight and a new button console on the handlebars, we’re hoping they also add signal lights to the front of the scooter, possibly on the ends of the handlebars, like these LED handlebar lights built for motorcycles.
If the turn signals are mounted on the handlebars and linked to the same button console, riders would see when their blinkers are on.
Kaabo and Voro Motors also worked together on the Kaabo Wolf King, which features a flashy gold frame, a bigger 72V battery, and is currently available for pre-order in limited quantities.
We’re always excited to see scooter brands innovating their products, especially in collaboration with retailers that listen to what riders want. Even though the Wolf Warrior is a stellar beast scooter, there’s always room for improvement, and we’ll keep you informed as more details emerge.
