Foldable Helmets for Electric Scooters

Foldable helmets are a type of helmet that can be folded up when not riding an electric scooter — reducing its size and allowing it to be conveniently stored in a purse, briefcase or backpack. When folded, these helmets are reduced to roughly 50% of their size and are typically only a few inches thick.

Needless to say, this type of helmet can be very useful and are especially attractive for shared scooters. Due to their unobtrusive size they can be carried everywhere, even if used rarely.  This improved convenience will hopefully address the epidemic of injuries observed in shared scooter riders who aren’t using helmets.

Approved Foldable Electric Scooter Helmets

All helmets listed here meet the minimum bicycle safety standard for the United States, the Consumer Product Safety Commision (CPSC) certification. This means they are generally considered suitable for use on an electric scooter if you are traveling below 20 mph.
We haven’t personally tested any of these out, but you can learn more about them by following the link.
