EMOVE Cruiser vs. Nanrobot D5+
We compare the EMOVE Cruiser versus the Nanrobot D5+ — two popular electric scooters from well-known distributors. Both have a similar look to the Speedway 5 and are priced around $1,400. The EMOVE will be less expensive after applying a coupon.
The EMOVE Cruiser is a quite incredible long-ranged electric scooter with a huge 1560 watt-hour LG battery pack battery and an electronic-sipping 600-watt electric motor delivered an incredible 50 miles during our real-world range tests. The Cruiser is stacked with all kinds of goodies including tubeless pneumatic tires and a water resistance rating of IP67. It’s definitely not a racing scooter but is quick and very feature and quality-oriented.
The Nanrobot D5+, on the other hand, is a rough, tank-like scooter that has a very powerful motor stuffed into it. It ticks many of the boxes for features we value — like disc brakes and large pneumatic tires — but is very power-oriented. The scooter is rough around the edges — both figuratively and literally. It offers incredible performance for its cost, but some design and assembly seem hurried.
We think this scooter is really oriented toward the enthusiast/mechanic who wants the most power for their dollar and will fix the problems this scooter has.
EMOVE Cruiser Pros
- Dual semi-hydraulic Xtech disc brakes. Though both scooters have disc brakes, the semi-hydraulic calipers of the Cruiser will be smoother and more strongly amplify braking effort.
- IP67 rated for water resistance. The EMOVE Cruiser can be operated in the rain as long as it is not submerged in water. The Nanrobot D5+ does not have an official rating.
- Tubeless, flat-resistant tires. Though both scooters have pneumatic tires, the EMOVE has tubeless tires. Similar to those on an automobile, that are more puncture resistant. Slime tends to work better on tubeless tires for making repairs if you do get a flat.
- Slightly higher 352 lb (160 kg) weight limit compared to the D5+’s 330 lbs (150 kg). This is seems almost negligible, we always recommending following the manufacturer’s weight limits guidelines.
- Large 1560 watt hour LG battery pack that gives at least 50 miles of tested range. The Nanrobot D5+ has a smaller 1217 watt hour battery made of generic Chinese cells that delivered 30.3 miles during our tests.
- Lighter 55 lb (25 kg) weight makes it easier to carry compared to the 66 lb (30 kg) D5+.
- Better suspension. Though both scooters have a front spring and rear air suspension, the D5+ front suspension is very soft and will bottom out on moderate bumps. The Cruiser suspension is stiffer and doesn’t have this problem.
Nanrobot D5+ Pros
- Much faster acceleration of 4.5 seconds to 25 mph (40 kmh). The D5+ has dual 1000 W electric motors. The EMOVE has a single 600 W electric motor and lagged significantly behind — taking 11 seconds to reach 25 mph.
- Much better hill climbing ability. The Nanrobot crushed our hill climb test (200 ft = 61 m/ 10% grade / 165 lb = 75 kg rider) in 8.3 seconds at an average speed of 16.4 mph (26 kmh). The EMOVE was slower, crawling up the hill in 12.1 seconds with an average speed of 11.3 mph (18 kmh).
- Higher top speed of 36 mph (58 kmh). The EMOVE maxes out around 26 mph (42 kmh).
- Rear kickplate that protects the fender from being stepped on and also serves as a carrying handle.

The EMOVE Cruiser is a refined, very complete scooter. It is oriented toward the rider that is looking for lots of quality features in a very affordable package.

Runner-up: Nanrobot D5+
The Nanrobot D5+ is the brash power electric scooter. It’s one — if not the — most fastest scooter you can get in its price range. To get this much performance it makes some trade-offs in terms of refinement and design. It is a tank and will be durable.
We think this is really the perfect “kit” scooter for the rider that wants to tune and upgrade their e-scooter.
